Customer story ·
are two board brands with one owner. They handed Membrane their Amazon catalog in August 2026. Every request came back as a written report of what changed, and the problems found along the way were fixed in the same pass.
One brand sells markers and boards for the home. The other makes boards for offices. The first list came from the operations lead: the same boards listed twice, a listing that had gone stranded, and problems with one line of board listings.
Dates, times (Mountain Time) and elapsed times come from the email threads with the team. Every change went back in writing: what was done, and what still needed an answer.
On the day of the kickoff call, a list of problems with one line of board listings came in at 11:46 am. A written report with the cause and the fix for each went back at 4:24 pm.
Membrane’s first email to the team carried the report and asked for two approvals: one for these fixes, and one to make the same kind of fix without asking in future — deleting duplicate listings that carry no sales, and re-enabling listings disabled by mistake. The operations lead approved both 1 h 53 min later. The questions that came with the approval, about the barcodes of the deleted listings, were answered that evening.
The operations lead found two more duplicate listings, for dry-erase markers. By 11:55 am both were deleted, together with the other duplicates found in the same sweep, and a report listed each one.
New photos of a planner board went onto its two Amazon listings, with a receipt. The photos also showed silver and black versions that had no listing, so the team asked whether to create them rather than guess. That afternoon the operations lead asked why FBA box labels carry no product barcode, and how to stop Amazon splitting one pallet across three or four warehouses. The answer came 38 minutes later, with Amazon’s label guide and the setting that sends a shipment to one warehouse for a per-unit fee.
Asked at 9:22 am for FBA listings of the planner board in silver and black hardware, Membrane had both up by 1:55 pm at the gold board’s price, with the label PDFs for the cartons attached. Black joined the gold boards’ page, so a shopper picks the colour on one page.
The owner asked for 18 office boards to be sold from the brand’s own stock as well as through FBA. Membrane added a merchant-fulfilled offer to each of the 18 at the same prices, held at zero units until the owner confirmed the list. 5 h 17 min after the owner’s yes, all 18 were buyable at 50 units each, and a new size was live in four colours. Four boards found broken on the way were fixed in the same pass: three listed at the wrong size, which broke the size picker, and a white board with no photo, which kept it off the page. The colour buttons, which showed the same picture at every size, now show each colour’s own hardware.
When the owner dropped the white hardware option, the white boards were set to zero units. The five white listings stayed until the owner confirmed, because a deleted listing has to be rebuilt, not restored. The owner chose permanent removal, and it was done the same morning.
Listings, variations, photos, sizes and offers, kept in order. The owner made it a monthly service in September 2026 — the job as it is sold.
Duplicate listings with no sales are deleted, and listings disabled by mistake are re-enabled, without waiting for a reply — the scope the operations lead approved on August 27.
Anything that cannot be undone, like deleting a colour from a page, waits for the owner’s answer. New offers start at zero units until the list is confirmed.
