Why automation, and why e‑commerce.
We built the pipes
For years we built Membrane, the integration platform — infrastructure that lets any software talk to any API, used in production by enterprises to run thousands of integrations. We learned exactly how the tools businesses run on connect, disagree, and break.
Agents changed what the pipes could carry
Once agents could act through those pipes, integration stopped being the bottleneck. Accountability became the bottleneck. Software could suddenly do the work — read every account, reconcile every payout, draft every claim — but nobody would trust it with the outcome. The missing piece wasn’t a better model. It was a person who answers for the result.
E-commerce is where it hurts most
No industry runs more of its business across tools that disagree with each other — marketplaces, storefronts, 3PLs, ad platforms, banks. The work is too constant for a person and too consequential for a machine. So we put both on it: agents inside the tools, a named expert at the seam — and we sell the outcome, not the software.
